We are a library after all, aren't we? Marian and I discussed ways to increase student interest in reading. She suggested that a op-ed piece or review in the Bandit written by a student for students might be effective. So, that is now in the works.
We, also, have a 'Book Talk' on the Library home page. View other's reviews and/or add reviews for books that you've read lately. It's a small but potentially effective way to spread a culture of reading on campus.
Any other ideas?
How about a campus-wide reading of one, chosen book. We could read and discuss a book - in person or on the wiki - and then do it all over again. Is there any enthusiasm over this idea? (Candice, 2/14/07)
